Lockdown defender Jackson Archer has entered recovery mode after picking up a hamstring strain in North Melbourne's Round 24 loss to Hawthorn.

The 21-year-old was subbed out early on at UTAS Stadium last Saturday, but it won't significantly affect his off-season programming.

Head of performance Kevin White has provided the latest update on Archer, and the other players that head into the off-season under injury clouds.

Jackson Archer - Hamstring
Expected return: Start of pre-season

"His scan and medical assessment have been better than expected and will see him have a timeline of 3-4 weeks in getting back to full strength and running capacity.

"This will not affect his off-season programming significantly or his training status in returning to pre-season."

Miller Bergman - Concussion
Expected return: Start of pre-season

"Miller has been symptom-free and will fall in with the main group for its off-season programming schedule."

Callum Coleman-Jones - Achilles
Expected return: TBC

"Callum experienced discomfort and swelling (with) his Achilles recently which has put a pause on his programming.

"He is undergoing surgical review to investigate and determine the best course of management moving forward."

Charlie Comben - Concussion/shoulder
Expected return: Post-Christmas

"Charlie's concussion symptoms resolved quite quickly, and with him not playing out the end of the season, the decision was made to undergo shoulder surgery to that joint that had caused discomfort.

"This will have Charlie in a rehab/modified training program in the pre-Christmas phase which hopefully serves as good rest and recovery after the biggest season of games he's played to date."

The latest Kangaroos injury list, with estimated return dates

Brayden George - Knee/shoulder
Expected return: TBC

"Brayden is making great progress with his recovery from that knee repair – showing minimal swelling and good range of movement.

"In light of the long-term nature of the ACL repair, we had Brayden reviewed for shoulder instability off the back of medical assessment.

"The decision was made to have this shoulder repaired at this point while early in his knee rehab so that it enables a clean run at his footy when he returns next year."

Josh Goater - Achilles
Expected return: TBC

"Josh has passed through some key strength markers recently and had his first running session on the oval last Thursday which was exciting for him.

"He will look to keep building out his calf strength, plyometric work and on-field running in the next phase of the program."

Griffin Logue - Wrist
Expected return: Post-Christmas

"Griff is now out of the cast and into a wrist splint in his recovery from surgery.

"He is now back running and doing a lower-body strength program as he looks to complete the main group running/conditioning programs across the post-season.

"He will be modified from contact training on return and have gym restrictions pre-Christmas as he builds back to full strength and function."

Bigoa Nyuon - Shoulder
Expected return: Post-Christmas

"Biggie underwent surgery last week and is in recovery phase with that arm in a sling.

"He will be in a rehab/modified training program in the pre-Christmas phase where the focus will be on developing his running capacity and progressing his strength and size."

Harry Sheezel - Ankle

Expected return: Start of pre-season

"Curtis has had a strong 10 days where he has increased his calf strength work and has now completed three progressed running conditioning sessions on the oval and he's gaining confidence with each day.
