The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' pre-season steps up a notch with an official AFLW practice match against the GWS Giants in Blacktown on Saturday.

Young guns Taylah Gatt, Ruby Tripodi, Niamh Martin and Zoe Savarirayan will be among the Kangaroos hoping to build on the form they showed in last weekend's match simulation training against St Kilda.

Veteran Emma King kicked three goals in last week's hitout and will look to add to her pre-season haul alongside fellow tall and club leading goalkicker Tahlia Randall. 

The match will also be an opportunity for many fans to get their first look at draftee Ella Slocombe, who saw plenty of the ball against the Saints. 

The Kangaroos launch their premiership campaign with a grand final rematch against Brisbane at Brighton Homes Arena on Sunday, September 1.
