Midfielder George Wardlaw will be pushing to return to North Melbourne's line-up for its penultimate match of the season against the Western Bulldogs, after passing through concussion assessments.

The 20-year-old has missed the past two senior games but trained with the main group on Tuesday and should be available for selection if he pulls up well from Thursday's session.

Star Harry Sheezel is touch-and-go ahead of Sunday due to a low-grade ankle injury.

His creativity and class will be difficult to replace as the Roos look to end their season on a positive note, but the club has some options on standby if the No.3 is ruled out.

Zac Fisher has shaken off a foot issue and is in the frame for a recall, while winger Dylan Stephens could be a chance to return to the side if he's able to prove his fitness during main training.

Jaidyn Stephenson missed last weekend with a hand injury but is in the frame to make a comeback for Sunday.

Charlie Lazzaro and Blake Drury were two of the three emergencies for Round 21's trip to Hobart after strong performances in the Round 19 VFL clash against Williamstown prior to a Round 20 bye.

Lazzaro was best afield for the Roos, racking up 24 touches, 13 tackles, 10 score involvements and a goal at DSV Stadium, while Drury notched six inside 50s from 17 disposals.

Hugh Greenwood (23 disposals, 12 tackles, one goal) was combative in the win over the Seagulls and is a mature-body option for senior coach Alastair Clarkson and the match committee, while talls Wil Dawson, Finnbar Maley and Kallan Dawson also pressed their cases for call-ups.
