Jack Watkins has been locked in as North Melbourne's VFL captain for a second straight season.

The inside midfielder was consistently one of the side's best throughout 2023, averaging 23.1 disposals per game on his way to winning the club's John Law Medal (VFL best and fairest award).

He's joined again in the leadership group by Sam Lowson, who was prolific as a forward in his first year at the club last season, kicking 34 goals in total.

New inclusions to the group are Connor Downie and Louis Butler who pulled on the royal blue and white stripes for the first time in 2023.

The duo was important in turning around the side’s fortunes after consecutive years towards the bottom of the ladder and both finished within the top 10 of the best and fairest count.

The Roos take on the Northern Bullants in Round 1 of the 2024 VFL season this Saturday at Arden Street Oval.
