The North Melbourne Football Club wishes to advise Director of Sports Science and Conditioning Peter Mulkearns and High Performance Manager Ray Breed have resigned from their respective positions, effective immediately.

Mulkearns and the club were involved in lengthy discussions regarding a new contract for 2013 and beyond but unfortunately, could not reach an agreement.

“Peter has a long history with North Melbourne, is highly respected in the industry and has premiership experience but we understand his position,” chief of football Donald McDonald said.

Breed’s knowledge and innovation in sports science helped take the Kangaroos to a new level on and off the field.

“Ray’s relationship with our coaches, players and conditioning team was vital and we will miss his input and contribution to the Football Department,” McDonald added.

“It’s terribly disappointing to be losing people of Peter and Ray’s experience and value at this time but we wish them all the best for the future.”
