“There might have been a few obstacles trying to get a job…I’m really excited to do it and looking to get stuck into it as quick as I can,” he told kangaroos.com.au.

Keen to stay in the game on and off the field, the puzzle pieces just fit perfectly into place for both parties.
“Working with my manager and a few things cropped up and trying to fit the model in to try and play and coach, that was…kind of the hard thing at some stages but it seemed to come together nicely at North and I’m excited.”
Moore played 68 games with the Swans starting his career in a premiership year in 2005 and ending in one this year.
“I was there for eight years and the last four of them I was in the leadership group…it was something that I treasured because it was pretty important for me to be in that especially when I wasn’t playing in the first grade so hopefully I can bring some of that stuff to North."
Although he still has top level footy left in him, the former Langwarrin local chose a different path and was keen to start coaching as early as possible.
“I was just finishing up with Sydney and doing a bit of coaching, doing a coaching course up there and really wanted to get into it…(I) also didn’t want to give up footy totally and really love playing the game, so a job came up that I could play with Werribee and do some coaching here, it was a great fit for me.
“…I love the game but if I’m not up to the top level, I still want to play at some level…After footy finished I still wanted to stay in the system and get into coaching in some way.”
Moore couldn’t have imagined a better opportunity than working and playing alongside some of the Roos’ most talented youngsters in the VFL with Werribee.
“I’ve been down there for two trainings already with Westy and Westy seems like he’s a great fella and he’s a pretty good coach too so to be under Westy as well and to learn off him and to do some work there will be good as well.”
With the likes of Jack Ziebell, Shaun Atley, Ryan Bastinac and Kieran Harper at the club, Moore says the Kangaroos are most certainly on the rise.
“Just the young list. I mean they finished the year off really well apart from the final…their second half of the year was up the top four…they’re going places basically, young list and to be able to get into the eight last year it’s showing that this year could be a bit better than that.”
