Normally a 45-point win over a top eight side would result in minimal changes but with Jack Ziebell and Scott Thompson late withdrawals, the duo could be straight back in the side if deemed fit.

In addition, Leigh Adams was substituted out against Essendon with a slight knee concern and Nathan Grima struggled with a foot complaint.

Players listed in alphabetical order

Liam Anthony

While Anthony always puts his name right up at the top of the disposal count, it’s his defensive work that has been impressive in recent weeks. Josh Drummond summed up his performance against Williamstown:

"It's about an evenness in his game. His ability to tackle, win his own ball, put his head over it and get handball receives shows it was a good even performance from LA."

Last game: 23 disposals, 6 tackles, 2 goals v Williamstown

Daniel Currie

North’s back-up ruckman keeps pushing the match committee, impressing again for Werribee.

Named in the bests for the Tigers, all Currie can do is keep playing hard and there may be a chance for him in the final fortnight of the season.

Last game: 11 disposals, 27 hit-outs, 1 goal v Northern Blues

Michael Firrito

Firrito was initially named as an emergency against Essendon, showing the veteran is inching towards a senior recall.

Development coach John Lamont said Firrito ‘kept things in control for much of the day’ for Werribee.

Last game: 18 disposals, 5 marks v Northern Blues

Taylor Garner

If Adams is unable to recover in time for Saturday, Garner is one of a group of players who would be right in the mix to take his spot.

Garner played more through the middle than normal against Williamstown, impressing with his work at ground level and tackling pressure.

Last game: 22 disposals, 6 tackles v Williamstown

Jordan Gysberts

Gysberts produced perhaps his best half of the season in the first two quarters against the Blues. Collecting 17 disposals, he was everywhere before being clamped down on in the second half.

While he wasn’t able to maintain his influence for four quarters, amassing so much of the ball early was a good sign.

Last game: 23 disposals v Northern Blues

Kieran Harper

Alongside Garner, Harper would be the other player in contention for Adams’ mid-forward role.

Harper hit the scoreboard against the Northern Blues on Sunday and has been steadily improving his form over the past few weeks for Werribee.

Last game: 11 disposals, 4 tackles, 2 goals v Northern Blues

Taylor Hine

Hine had a quiet return to the VFL, lowering his colours to Blues’ midfielder David Ellard. Despite that, the power of Hawthorn’s midfield may mean a return to the side.

In Round 5, Sam Mitchell collected 28 disposals and would arguably be the first candidate for a tag, a role Hine could excel at.

Last game: 16 disposals, 6 tackles v Northern Blues

Scott McMahon

McMahon’s performances in the VFL are improving with every week. Alongside Firrito, he played a large part in Werribee’s good defensive showing.

Last game: 19 disposals, 8 marks v Northern Blues
