The Kangaroos have bolstered their ruck stocks, selecting giant South Australian Taylor Goad with pick No.20 in the 2023 AFL Draft.
Goad, who stands 206cm, flirted with a college basketball career before choosing to pursue football in November last year.
He impressed in South Adelaide's SANFL premiership campaign, averaging 25 hitouts across his 13 matches, and played all four games for South Australia at the national under-18s championships, where he averaged 7.5 disposals and 16.5 hitouts per appearance.
"I'm really excited to move away from home," he told Fox Sports on Monday night.
"I'm ready for that next stage of my life."
He combines height with raw pace, having run the 20m sprint at the Draft Combine in an impressive 2.96 seconds, and can mix it with the smalls at ground level making him an exciting prospect for the future.
He joins the Kangas as the side's third addition of the night, following the acquisitions of Colby McKercher and Zane Duursma.
