Onballer Audrey Rhodes and defender Ciara Fitzgerald have both earned spots in the VFLW’s 2023 Team of the Year.
Rhodes, who won North Melbourne’s best and fairest award and Most Improved Player award slots onto a wing, while best and fairest runner-up and Shinboner of the Year Fitzgerald has been placed at half-back.
Rhodes averaged 17.2 disposals, 7.3 tackles, and 4.8 clearances per game and was a forward-50 stoppage threat too, booting eight goals from her 14 appearances.
One of her most influential performances came in Round 7 against eventual Grand Finalists Port Melbourne, when she gathered a season-high 29 touches and nine clearances in the tough two-point victory away from home.
Fitzgerald, who was signed by AFLW club Carlton prior to its 2023 campaign, was calm and composed behind the ball all season long for North Melbourne.
She missed just the one game during the season and averaged 15 touches per game.
