If anyone knows the Sydney Swans, it's their former player and leader Jarred Moore.  While the hard-nosed midfielder played a key role in establishing the club as a force to be reckoned with, he’s now working on how to bring it down.

The 26-year-old is a development coach at North Melbourne and understandably, the coaches and players at Aegis Park have been knocking his door down to access information on his former side.

“They (the Swans) really play for each other and they look after each other and they play a really contested one-on-one style…every time they play that (way), you know it’s gonna be a battle and that’s pretty much what I’ve told most of the boys,” Moore told NMFC.com.au.

After joining the Roos in November, Moore’s focus has been on the club’s younger players and its VFL affiliate Werribee.  There, he acts as a player and assistant coach and his intricate knowledge of the reigning premiers is regarded as invaluable.

Moore says the Swans’ attitude and selflessness is what makes them a formidable opponent.  Those who don’t buy in to the trademark, don’t play.

“That’s the prerequisite, you have to be able to do your role and crack in when it’s your turn…that’s what they’ll be doing I’m sure (on Saturday), they’ve been doing it for the last eight years.”

While Sydney has had the wood over North in recent times, Moore believes the Kangaroos are well placed to get a rare win with a home ground advantage in Hobart.

“We’ve played a few games down there so that’ll help with the ground but also, we’ve had some reasonable games.  The last couple of weeks been in winning positions right up till the siren so we’re in reasonable form without getting the results.”
