Now with the year having come to a close, the best 32 gifs will battle against each other to take out the inaugural gif of the year title.
It will all be decided by you. There will be two matchups a day, with the voting period approximately 24 hours for each one.
The full draw will be revealed at the conclusion of the first round.
Match 11
Kayne Turner’s tackle (Round 22) v Kayne Turner’s bump (Round 20)
A gif highlight machine in his first season at Arden Street, two of Turner’s passages of play battle against each other for a path into the second round.
Late in North’s thrilling defeat of Adelaide, it appeared that the Crows were about to work a shot on goal and cut the margin to within a goal.
Out of nowhere, Turner appeared and chased down Rory Laird, knocking the ball out of his hand and allowing the Kangaroos to regroup in a critical passage of the game.
When Turner made his debut, there was a sense of apprehension for how he would be able to cope with the bigger bodies at AFL level.
No-one should have worried, because the small forward threw his ‘weight’ around with zero care, inadvertently stunning Phil Davis – a Giants key defender who outweighed Turner by 25 kilograms.
Match 12
Choosing between Cunnington fend-offs is a difficult choice, but that is on the agenda today.
#4 Ben Cunnington don’t argue (Round 10) v Ben Cunnington don’t argue (Round 20)
One of the most viewed gifs of the year was a demonstration of Cunnington’s brute strength against Geelong’s Travis Varcoe.
Varcoe attempted to grab the arm of Cunnington, but the Kangaroos’ midfielder was having none of it and brushed him aside before running forward.
As North made a break away from the Giants in the third quarter of Round 20, Cunnington was an important part of the midfield.
Giants’ midfielder Josh Kelly was another to fall victim to the Cunnington fend-off, attempting to tackle but failing.
