North Melbourne defender Kallan Dawson has been called up for the first time this season, one of three inclusions to face Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.
Recruited with the Roos' selection in the 2022 mid-season rookie draft, he featured in the final four games of that season, but this represents his first opportunity since.
He'll be joined by young defender Miller Bergman and mid-forward Charlie Lazzaro in the starting team.
Daniel Howe and last week's substitute Blake Drury have been omitted.
Jack Ziebell is among the outs, having chosen to conclude his 280-game AFL career at the MCG where he first ran out in 2009.
Co-captain Luke McDonald represents the other forced change, having suffered a high-grade hamstring injury in the second quarter on Saturday.
A substitute will be chosen from emergencies Howe, Drury, Aiden Bonar and Lachie Young, and named an hour before the bounce.
