Jackson Archer has won a call-up to North Melbourne's senior team for the first time this season and will face Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
The son of club legend Glenn, Archer has been named in the backline for his fourth career appearance, having shaken off a groin injury picked up in the pre-season.
The 20-year-old is one of four father-son recruits in the team, along with co-captain Luke McDonald, midfielder Bailey Scott and second-game forward Cooper Harvey.
Archer will be joined behind the ball by Josh Goater, who will make his first appearance since Round 3 after recovering from a knee injury.
Curtis Taylor has won a recall on the strength of his 25 disposals, five tackles and five marks in the reserves' 43-point win over Geelong on Sunday.
Liam Shiels and George Wardlaw also return, the former having missed the last match with a calf/plantaris complaint and the latter managed.
Griffin Logue (knee), Flynn Perez (knee) and Jy Simpkin (concussion) comprise the Roos' forced changes, while Hugh Greenwood, Jack Ziebell and Charlie Lazzaro have been omitted.
Greenwood, Lazarro, Ziebell and Daniel Howe are this week's emergencies, from which a tactical substitute will be named ahead of the opening bounce.
