A split decision
Lachlan Hansen and Drew Petrie have shared the votes from the coaches against Hawthorn.
The pair, playing at opposite ends of the ground received nine votes apiece from Alastair Clarkson and Brad Scott to lead the way for North on Friday night.
Hansen pulled down 14 marks, including 6 vital intercepts in a strong defensive game. Using his ability to read the play to perfection, he cut off countless Hawks’ attacking efforts.
The number 6 was a constant link in the chain going forward, racking up 28 disposals in a strong individual effort.
Petrie was equally as effective in attack, booting 5 goals in what proved a match-winning display.
The vice-captain pulled down 3 marks inside 50 and finished with 14 disposals against a quality opponent in Brian Lake.
Nick Dal Santo would consider himself a little unlucky in an outing many deemed good enough for best-on-ground honours.
The former Saint had 36 disposals and 7 clearances in arguably his most impressive game in North colours.
It was only enough for three votes though, while Brent Harvey also polled three for his 30-possessions.
