North Melbourne co-captain Jy Simpkin has accepted a one-match suspension for a strike on Fremantle's Caleb Serong.

The incident occurred in the second quarter of the Kangaroos' thrilling one-point win over Fremantle, with the action classified as intentional, high contact and low impact.

Simpkin will now miss Saturday's clash with Hawthorn at UTAS Stadium.
