North Melbourne’s Cam Zurhaar will be monitored in the lead-up to Round 1 after scans revealed he suffered a calf strain in Saturday’s pre-season match at Ikon Park.
The 24-year-old reported awareness in his left calf and didn’t return to the field after half-time.
“Cam will be on light duties and monitored closely over the next week. It will be a matter of waiting to see how he responds, then progressing his rehab as his symptoms allow,” general manager of football Todd Viney said.
Callum Coleman-Jones also suffered a partial tear of his left plantar fascia during Saturday afternoon’s VFL win over Footscray.
The ruckman will remain in a moonboot for a short period and will be progressed through a rehab program to allow his plantar fascia to heal.
