NMFC.com.au can reveal Majak Daw will not be playing in the second NAB Cup round after experiencing swelling in his right knee.  The 21-year old has not been named in North’s squad of 25 which will travel to Townsville to play the Suns.

Daw participated in some light goal-kicking drills at main training on Wednesday in Craigieburn, but wasn’t able to complete the full session.

News of his omission will disappoint many Kangaroos fans after he made headlines for his spectacular play against Melbourne and Richmond last Friday night.

Brad Scott stated Daw was doubtful during a media conference on Tuesday saying, “At this stage he’s at best 50/50 to play this week. He’d be selected in the side but if that swelling doesn’t reduce significantly in the next 24 hours, I’d say he probably won’t play and we’d start to look to getting him right for the following week.”

Having now been officially ruled out, supporters could next see Daw in action on Saturday, March 9 against Geelong for NAB Cup Round 3.
