A combination of injuries and strong VFL form has seen the North Melbourne Kangaroos make six changes for this weekend’s clash with Collingwood, as fit again captain Jack Ziebell and ruck Callum Coleman-Jones headline the inclusions.
While a shoulder injury has forced Tristan Xerri out of the side, Coleman-Jones comes back into the senior set-up off of the back of some strong VFL form. Last weekend he was clearly the side’s best performer in a difficult defeat to Werribee.
Ziebell has recovered from the facial fractures he suffered in the Round 13 clash with GWS to take his place in a young and exciting forward line that also includes Phoenix Spicer.
A quad injury to Aaron Hall saw Spicer called upon as medical substitute early in last week’s clash with Geelong, and he impressed with his speed and agility through the contest.
Along with Ziebell, Bailey Scott has recovered from injury to take a spot in defence, while Aiden Bonar has shaken off a hamstring issue to make an immediate return to the senior side.
Flynn Perez is the final inclusion to the team. He was one of the VFL team’s top performers on the weekend and impressed with his run and carry out of defence.
Joining Hall and Xerri out of the side will be Kayne Turner (concussion), as well as Jack Mahony, Atu Bosenavulagi and Josh Walker (all omitted).
Mahony and Walker make up the emergency list alongside Eddie Ford and mid-season recruit Kallan Dawson.
