Shaun Higgins’ remarkable rise continues after another stunning performance against Melbourne.

Just a week after polling nine votes from the coaches for a 31-disposal, two goal haul, Higgins backed up his effort with a perfect ten.

He was the dominant performer in the win over the Demons, mirroring his performance against the Blues with another 31 possessions and two majors.

With votes in four of the past five matches, Higgins now sits third on the North leaderboard in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year with 36 votes.

Another player who was influential against Melbourne was Ben Cunnington. The midfielder polled for the fifth time this year, with six votes for his 31-disposal, six clearance effort.

Todd Goldstein continued his amazing year with another big game, amassing 20 possessions, eight marks, seven tackles and 50 hit-outs.

The big man registered five votes to take his season tally to 70, and he is now just 15 votes behind Dan Hannebery and 30 behind Nat Fyfe.

Lindsay Thomas’ five goal haul was enough for two votes.
