Kangaroo tall Jasmine Ferguson returns to North Melbourne Tasmania's side for Saturday night's crunch match against Melbourne.

Ferguson, who missed the Round 7 win over Collingwood due to health and safety protocols, is the Kangaroos' only change for the trip to Casey Fields. Forward Daisy Bateman makes way this week.

Danielle Hardiman retains her spot in the backline ahead of the experienced Jess Duffin, after helping restrict Collingwood to two goals in round seven.

Father-daughter recruit Amy Smith has also kept her place in the line-up after backing up her career-best game against the Tigers in Round 6 by impressing coach Darren Crocker on the wing against the Magpies.

Saturday's primetime clash will go some way towards shaping the AFLW top six, with both sides heading into the game with a 6-1 record.
