The club’s Next Generation Academy (NGA) is designed to identify and develop young multicultural and Indigenous footballers in the City of Wyndham and City of Melbourne and State of Tasmania regions. 

Our Generational Roos program exists to provide the same support for our past players and their families.

Our mission is to support these athletes in their football journey, from grassroots to an AFL/W career at the kangaroos.

To be eligible for our Next Generation Academy, athletes must:

  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • And/or identify as Multicultural (participant was born overseas or has at least one parent born overseas from Asian or African countries).
  • Involved at Coates League, TSL/W, VFL/W, SANFL/W or WAFL/W level (U16+); or
  • Included in State Academy programs (U16+)

All athletes must also reside within our academy zones of the City of Melbourne or City of Wyndham (Wyndham Vale, Williams Landing, Werribee South, Werribee, Truganina, Tarneit, Quandong, Point Cook, Mount Cottrell, Manor Lakes, Mambourin, Little River, Laverton North, Laverton, Hoppers Crossing, Eynesbury, Cocoroc, Seabrook, Sanctuary Lakes) or the state of Tasmania.

To be eligible for our Generational Roos:

  • For male players, the athlete’s father must have played 100+ AFL games
  • For female players, the athlete’s father must have played 1+ AFL game
