Late to the sport, Maley’s soaring efforts with the Northern Bullants earned him a reputation among recruiters for his untapped athletic potential.
After he returned to local club Eltham and booted six in a best-on-ground Grand Final performance, North Melbourne took the plunge at pick No.2 in the 2023 AFL Draft.
2024: Maley chipped away at his ruck and forward craft over 18 games for the reserves and finished the season with 18 goals.
He regularly posted double-digit returns for possessions, lifted his pressure numbers and hitout tallies in the second half of the season and displayed his athleticism with weekly clunks around the ground.
