First-year Roos Wil Dawson, Riley Hardeman and Finnbar Maley have put pen to paper, each signing one-year contract extensions.

Their new deals will see Dawson and Hardeman remain at North Melbourne until at least the end of 2026 and Maley until at least the end of 2025.

Standing at 200cm, Dawson was selected by the Roos with pick No.22 in the 2023 AFL Draft as a key position prospect from the Gippsland Power.

The 18-year-old made his AFL debut down back in Round 10 against Essendon, before a shoulder injury in his third game interrupted his season.

A line-breaking defender from Swan Districts, Hardeman was taken with pick No.23 in the 2023 AFL Draft after captaining Western Australia in the under-18 championships and earning All-Australian honours.

The 19-year-old featured in three games at AFL level during his debut season, receiving the call-up for his first game in Round 8 against Adelaide.

Maley was also part of the Roos’ 2023 draft class, joining from the Northern Bullants via pick No.2 in the Rookie Draft.

The 21-year-old is yet to make his AFL debut but showed promise as another forward and ruck option for the Roos across 18 games in the reserves.

"All three players have taken strides forward during their first year," North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said.

"Riley impressed with his pace and attack on the ball and Wil and Finnbar with their versatility and aerial presence.

"We look forward to watching them take further steps in their development."
