With the 20th overall pick of the 2023 AFL National Draft, the Roos snapped up the 206cm Taylor Goad from South Australia.
He impressed in South Adelaide's SANFL premiership campaign, averaging 25 hitouts across his 13 matches, and played all four games for South Australia at the national under-18s championships, where he averaged 7.5 disposals and 16.5 hitouts per appearance.
Despite being a talented basketballer, Goad made the decision to pursue football in late 2022.
