With the 20th overall pick of the 2023 AFL Draft, the Roos snapped up the 207cm Goad from South Australia.
He impressed in South Adelaide's SANFL premiership campaign, averaging 25 hitouts across his 13 matches, and played all four games for South Australia at the national under-18s championships.
Despite being a talented basketballer, Goad made the decision to pursue football in late 2022.
2024: The towering ruck went untried at senior level during his first year at the club, but put together a full 18-game campaign in the reserves.
He gained experience in the middle of the park early on in the season battling the mature VFL bodies in the ruck, before being used as a tall defender in the second half of the season.
