Carlton youngster Troy Menzel is on track to face North Melbourne on Saturday night.

Menzel was a late withdrawal for the Blues in their loss to Hawthorn after hurting his adductor in the warm up, but Carlton’s Head of Football Andrew McKay is optimistic about his prospects of a quick return.

“Troy’s likely to play,” McKay told carltonfc.com.au.

”He’s training fully this week. The fact that we stopped him from playing (against Hawthorn) has enabled him to come up for this week and be a likely contender.”

Veteran Andrew Carrazzo is another who is firming to return to the Blues’ line-up at Etihad Stadium.

“He’s had a condition called ‘turf toe’, which is really a sprain of the toe,” McKay explained.

“He’s been troubled by the injury for a couple of weeks now, but with the rest it’s improved an enormous amount.

“He’ll be a test at the end of the week.”

Andrew Walker and Nick Graham are also fighting to overcome injuries and return to the side after missing the last five and three matches respectively.
