Star GWS forward Toby Greene has been declared fit to face North Melbourne this weekend by senior coach Leon Cameron.
Greene has been sidelined since the Giants’ Round 9 loss to Richmond after suffering a hairline fracture to his right shoulder.
After initially expecting to be sidelined for a month, Cameron says Greene’s recovery has happened no faster than expected.
“Clearly the bye came at a good time for us in terms of we had a few injuries. Greene we think will play. He’s been doing contact for about a week now,” Cameron said.
“We always thought it would be in between probably three to five weeks, and it sits at that four-week mark since he played against Richmond.
“He hasn’t lost his running and agility because he could do all that, it’s just making sure his shoulder is ready to roll, and it is.”
Prior to his injury Greene had been in fine form for the Giants, with the former All-Australian kicking 22 goals in nine games for the tenth placed side.
Phil Davis, Matt De Boer, Tom Hutchesson, and Adam Kennedy are also chances to make their returns from injury on Sunday at Blundstone Arena.
