With North's annual Australia Day open training session rapidly approaching, Eugene Arocca is encouraging supporters to get to Aegis Park and meet the players.

"Our boys, exhausted as they may be, come off and are willing to sign autographs and stick around to be photographed. I remember on Family Day, Drew Petrie missed his lunch because he stood out there after other players had gone inside and kept signing and signing," Arocca told CrocMedia on Wednesday.

Arocca says the directive for unprecedented access to the team originated high on the football chain with coach Brad Scott adamant the members deserved to watch more of North Melbourne in action.

"Brad (Scott) has been pretty strong on making sure we give our members as much accessibility as possible. Last year we had great success with it (the twilight sessions) - on Good Friday we had a thousand people turn up to watch training."

More of the same is expected with this year's Australia Day open training and the variety of attractions on offer away from the football field. The combination making it a great day out for the entire family.

"We pride ourselves on that accessibility and Australia Day is a great opportunity for members to come down, have a chat to the players, get a photo, some autographs and have a barbecue," Arocca added.

There will be a sausage sizzle provided as well as Vango Coffee, muffins, cakes and much more.
