North Melbourne returned to the winners list in Round 14 by virtue of an 86-point win over the GWS Giants at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

NMFC.com.au looks at some of the interesting statistical figures to come from the victory.

Individual

- Lachlan Hansen again led the team in marks with 13. Excluding Round 11 against the Gold Coast, Hansen has taken 57 marks in his five games playing in the defensive half.

Even allowing for his two games missed and one-mark game against the Suns, Hansen still ranks in the top 20 for total marks (82) in the league this season. 5 of his 12 marks against the Giants were from opposition kicks.

- Despite accumulating only 26 hit-outs, low by his standards, Todd Goldstein had 10 hit-outs to advantage. It was the ninth time this season the ruckman has hit double figures in the statistic.

For the season Goldstein sits second in total hit-outs to advantage across the AFL, with 132 from his 13 games.

- Ryan Bastinac led all Kangaroos with four score assists on Sunday. For the season he also leads the club with 10 goal assists, narrowly in front of Lindsay Thomas with 9.

Team

North regained its touch in scores from stoppages. Over the previous fortnight it had slipped, but thanks in part to Goldstein's hit-outs to advantage, the Kangaroos were once again near the top of the league for the round.

Despite the Giants putting multiple men behind the ball after quarter time, North's efficiency once it went inside 50 was very good. It scored from more than half its entries, varying the point of attack.
