Braydon Preuss - $445,000 - Current Ownership: 1.2%
The 206-centimetre former rugby league prospect made a strong impact in first season of AFL football, playing a respectable eight games.
Preuss started the season strongly in the absence of Todd Goldstein, with a 105-point effort in just his second game of AFL footy.
His productivity was understandably affected by Goldstein’s return to the fold, but he was still able to work in tandem with the fellow big man.
Preuss will face a fascinating battle with Goldstein for the number 1 ruck spot, or will the Roos look to play the pair together again?
STATUS: ONE TO CONSIDER
Tristan Xerri - $170,000 - Current Ownership: 0.56%
Realistically North’s fourth-choice ruckman heading into Round 1, Xerri’s upside is his basement price.
North’s fourth pick at the 2017 National Draft, Xerri has experience against AFL-listed ruckmen when he was involved with the Werribee Tigers' VFL team.
This suggests that if given the opportunity at AFL-level, he won’t be out of his depth and could potentially earn your team some much needed cash.
STATUS: ON THE RADAR
Todd Goldstein - $610,000 - Current Ownership: 1.6%
After experiencing a tough 2017, North is expecting Todd Goldstein to rediscover some of his best form and he could be a bargain as a result.
At just $610,00 and an ownership of just 1.6%, there is no doubt the 29-year-old ruckman will be a point of difference in your team, and could have an elite output.
Only time will tell whether there is room for both Goldstein and Preuss, but for $610,000 and the scores he could produce, it should be a risk you’re willing to take.
STATUS: LOCK IT IN
Majak Daw - $394,000 - 1.47%
With Majak Daw expected to play in defence for much of this season, his fantasy output could be hindered slightly.
However, with Daw available as a forward and a ruckman in fantasy this year, there is good flexibility as to where he can fit in your side.
At $394,000, he is somewhat of an investment, but could find himself producing strong fantasy scores on a consistent basis if he finds a regular spot in the side.
