Shorty’s Stairs are not famous unlike the town in which they are situated, Park City, Utah.

But for Aaron Edwards and the North Melbourne side, this set of stairs will be forever etched in their memories.

The group, led by Director of Medical Services and Player Pathways Steve Saunders, had fifteen minutes of non-stop ascending and descending during their training camp in early November. But nothing was straight forward as Edwards explains in his exclusive video on kangaroos.com.au with the players made to run, jump, hop, skip and side-step their way up each tier of stairs.

With the high altitude doing little to make the task easy, the boys experienced severe muscle fatigue and a deep burn in their thighs, calves, quads and glutes. And there was more to come with an extreme cross training session including boxing to be completed straight after the stairs had been conquered.
