Ruckman Daniel Currie is expected to miss the next two weeks after injuring his foot in the VFL on Sunday.

Currie, playing for Kangaroos’ VFL affiliate Werribee, hurt in his foot during the first half and was unable to play out the game, before scans revealed the extent of his injury this week.

North Melbourne Director of Football Geoff Walsh confirmed the news on Tuesday.

“He’s certainly been playing some consistent footy for Werribee, so it’s disappointing for Daniel but we know he will bounce back quickly and don’t expect him to miss too much game time,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au.

Meanwhile, Nick Dal Santo is likely to make his return to the side this weekend, provided he successfully completes training this week.

“He’s been telling us he’s ready to get back out there, but we wanted to be sure he was fit and ready for the rigours of a full game before declaring him available," Walsh said.

Dal Santo has been out of the Kangaroos lineup since injuring his hamstring in Round 2 and undergoing surgery.

As confirmed earlier, Taylor Garner is set to miss up to six weeks with a fractured thumb.
