One of The Huddle’s greatest objectives is to introduce more people from multicultural backgrounds to Australian Rules Football.

On Sunday close to 50 international students from Deakin University came to Arden Street to learn the basics, from kicking and handballing to marking in one of The Huddle’s most successful programs - Welcome to AFL.

With the help of 25 fantastic volunteers from Nowicki Carbone Lawyers, the students hailing from countries including the USA, the Netherlands and Sweden had a day to remember at Arden Street learning about Australia’s game.

When the Sherrins were put away, the hard-working Nowicki volunteers put on a BBQ for everyone to enjoy and spend time discussing their new skills.

Then it was off to Etihad Stadium to watch their newly-adopted team North Melbourne take on the Suns.
