Jed Anderson will play his first game in North colours on Saturday after he was named in the Roos’ 22 to take on Adelaide.

The former Hawk joined North in the most recent trade period, and has impressed in his first pre-season at Arden St.

Director of Coaching Darren Crocker said Anderson’s switch to North had been seamless.

“It’s always exciting when you bring a player from outside your club (and) he’s come in and fitted in really well,” Crocker told NMFC.com.au.

“All the guys have really embraced him and he’s embraced the place.

“He brings some real excitement. He’s got really good pace, his pressure skills are really good. We see him having a really, really good future here.”

Teammate Brent Harvey agreed, saying he couldn’t wait until Saturday night to see Anderson “unleashed”.

“He’s had an outstanding pre-season. The boys really like his attutide and the way he goes about football,” Harvey said.

North will be keen to atone for last year’s start to the season against the Crows and will be aiming to make the most of a home ground advantage.

The Round 1 team features 19 of the 22 that lined up in last year’s Preliminary Final, with Anderson, Luke McDonald and Daniel Wells the three who weren’t part of the side which fell to the Eagles.

Wells will make his first AFL appearance since Round 2 last year, having made a successful return via the NAB Challenge.
