North Melbourne will go into its Good Friday clash without experienced defender, Aidan Corr.

The 26-year-old has spent the past few days in hospital following a foot infection.

“It’s an unlucky set of circumstances,” North GM football Brady Rawlings said.

“The infection has come through some cracked skin on Aidan’s foot, and has gone into his toe which he had an issue with in round one. So it’s not directly related to the toe injury per se.”

“He’s being treated with antibiotics and is recovering well but won’t be available this week.”

Corr has been a pillar in North’s backline in the absence of Robbie Tarrant and Luke McDonald, and has averaged 16 disposals and 5 marks.

Aiden Bonar will also miss the Round 3 clash.

“Aiden experienced some adductor tightness late in the game on the Gold Coast,” Rawlings explained.

“While he declared himself fit to play, we need to take a long term approach and felt it best to give him the week off to allow him time to recover fully and strengthen the area in the gym.”
