It’s no secret the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos and Collingwood are fast becoming bitter rivals in the AFLW.

After a tightly fought semi-final last season, in which the Roos prevailed by just two-points, the Pies bounced back this year with an emphatic 20-point win in Round 4.

Back then, the Kangaroos had lost their way losing two games in a row, but tough-tackling forward Daria Bannister says the side has its mojo back following a gutsy win over Fremantle and victories in three out if its past four games.

“We felt very good after the win, we sang the song loud and proud but our focus is now Collingwood,” Bannister told North Media.

“We have a lot of belief in ourselves as a group … hopefully we the momentum keeps on going.

“Coming up against Collingwood we’ll go in with the same mindset … and hopefully win by more than a point this time. We’re very excited.”

This weekend’s clash will be Bannister’s first final for the club.

“Being injured through the three years I’ve been playing football has been daunting,” she said.

“I love playing my role … I normally base my game off tackles and the one percenters for the team.

“It’s nice to get some goals on the board … I love playing consistent football.”
