VFL: From friends to foes
Friendships will be put to the test on Saturday as VFL affiliates North Ballarat and Werribee face off.
After fielding just three AFL-listed players last week, the Roosters are set to welcome back Brad McKenzie, Aaron Mullett and Max Warren.
With the trio no doubt looking to push for a recall, it makes for an intriguing battle at Avalon Airport Oval.
Werribee has lost some vital experience with Scott McMahon and Sam Wright making the step up to AFL level.
All in all, six Kangaroos will line up for North Ballarat and six for Werribee.
The ruck battle will be one to watch with American-rookie Eric Wallace to come up against Majak Daw; both boasting big leaps and athleticism.
After the pair had quiet games for their respective sides last week, there’ll be plenty to prove.
Through the midfield, Wallace will be joined by Trent Dumont and Mitch Wilkins for the Roosters, while Mullett and McKenzie will no doubt spend time on-ball.
Daw will be aided by McGenniss and Harper for the home team.
After enjoying a week in North colours, Warren will take extra confidence into a potential stopping role on dangerous small forward Kayne Turner.
Taylor Hine will look to provide some run going the other way for the Tigers, while Mason Wood is set to lead the charge in attack.
Werribee sits fifth on the VFL table, while North Ballarat is eight, but in danger of slipping as low as 11th with a defeat.
NMFC.com.au will provide analysis of every Kangaroo in action following the match.
