Dani Hardiman will be forced to the sidelines for at least another eight days, after suffering a delayed concussion post game on Saturday night.

The AFL recently introduced new rules stating that any player diagnosed with a concussion will be unavailable to play for a minimum of 12 days following the incident.

North Melbourne AFLW football operations manager, Nathan Hrovat, said it was a disappointing loss but it ultimately comes down to player wellbeing.

“First and foremost, we need to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our players,” Hrovat said.

“The new rule ensures we are giving players time to recover.

“It’s a disappointing loss, Dani has been a tremendous contributor so far this season and a key pillar in our defence line.

“We will continue to work closely with her over this period and look forward to welcoming her back into the side.”
