Britt Gibson has undergone surgery on her hamstring after suffering a high grade tendon injury.
The 28-year-old sustained the injury at training on Thursday having already missed part of the pre-season rehabbing from a similar issue.
North Melbourne AFLW football operations manager, Nathan Hrovat, said it was a big loss.
“It’s a really disappointing result for Britt who has been working really hard to get back to full fitness,” Hrovat said.
“We expect her rehabilitation to be around 10 to 12 weeks.
“We will ensure she ticks all the right boxes and hope to have her back as soon as possible as her experience and skills are invaluable to the team.”
