The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have appointed Cheyne Webster as their VFLW senior coach for 2021.
Familiar with the Kangaroos AFLW program, Webster joined the Kangaroos in 2019 as a development coach, overseeing the Individual Player Development programs.
“We endeavour to be a club that can develop people from within our program and Cheyne is an example of that,” North AFLW coach Darren Crocker told North Media.
“Cheyne's commitment to our women's program is unquestionable, putting in the time and effort to support not only our players but also develop his coaching.
“Cheyne's duties will now primarily sit in the VFLW program while still having involvement in our AFLW program.”
Meanwhile, Natasha Hardy will move into a newly created position as AFLW head of development while Zac Read joins the coaching team as AFLW development coach.
“Tash has been incredibly impressive since she started in our program and will now oversee the development of our players including the implementation of Individual Development Programs and Athlete Development Programs,” Crocker said.
“She will also maintain her role as VFLW assistant coach, in support of Cheyne.
“We welcome Zac to our AFLW coaching ranks, who has only recently stepped away from his senior coaching role at the Western Jets in the NAB League, where he was for the past two seasons.
“He is extremely familiar and an integral part of North Melbourne, having worked at the club since 2013 in the club’s community arm, The Huddle, as the schools and community engagement manager.
“We are excited to welcome Zac to our coaching team, who will also be an assistant coach in our VFLW program.”
