With just two games remaining in the 2020 season, North Melbourne’s match committee will be keen to give players a chance to impress.

North Media looks at those who could be in the mix.

Aiden Bonar had been performing well in defence before an AC joint in round 11, and could get another chance if he can prove his fitness.

Likewise Tristan Xerri and Jack Mahony, who will have to overcome their respective shoulder complaints to earn a call-up.

It’s been a long time between games for Taylor Garner, who hasn’t played at AFL level since round 23 last year. After getting through a scratch match unscathed, he’ll no doubt be considered if he makes it through the main training session of the week, but his injury history means North will be conservative with him.

The Roos will have kept a close eye on Jy Simpkin’s health after he left the ground with suspected concussion last week, with the ability of Paul Ahern around the contest making him a potential midfield replacement. Tom Murphy has also enjoyed some time in the midfield at various stages during training, and could be another suitable option.

Majak Daw provides versatility at either end of the ground, and quieter performances from North’s key forwards could offer him another chance to impress.

Sam Durdin didn’t do too much wrong in his two games last month and is waiting in the wings, while Jasper Pittard has had a tough second year, but could provide some valuable run from defence.
