In his 14th season at North Melbourne, Todd Goldstein insists the end of his career isn’t in sight.
“I’m not putting any timelines on it [my career],” he told the media on Wednesday.
“I’d like to play for as long as I can. With the way my body and mind are feeling, there’s no reason why I can’t continue on post this contract.”
Goldstein has improved with age, and the ruckman is posting numbers in 2020 that rival his All Australian and Syd Barker Medal winning year of 2015, especially when you take into account the shorter quarters.
“My goal is to get to the end of the contract [in 2022] and see where I’m at and where the club’s at, and hopefully we can continue on,” he said.
The number 22 will become the 11th North player to hit 250 games this Saturday, and he has his next milestone in mind.
“I’d love to hit 300 games and be the sixth North Melbourne player to do that. It would be a dream come true,” he said.
“A lot of water has to go under the bridge though, and as we’ve seen by this year, you never know what’s around the corner.”
