North Melbourne has made three changed to its team for the clash against Melbourne on Sunday.
A forward, Nick Larkey, a midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke, and a defender, Sam Durdin are into the Roos’ 22 for the round 11 fixture at Adelaide Oval.
Larkey and Davies-Uniacke were rested on Wednesday night, but make an immediate return, while Durdin is in for his first match of the year.
Lachie Hosie and Will Walker have been omitted from the side, while Ben Brown is sidelined with a knee injury, with North hopeful of getting him back for round 12.
"We're pretty much forced to do these changes, just because of the nature of the fixture," Rhyce Shaw said.
"In saying that, too, it's great to give our guys some opportunities.
"We saw young Will Walker get back after so long out of the game (against Geelong) and it was fantastic to see him out there and we feel as though we've found something there.
"Lachie Hosie kicked two goals and we saw he could play at that level as well, but he still has a few things he can work on."
Melbourne confirmed earlier on Saturday that Max Gawn (back/knee) and Jack Viney (concussion) would miss the match.
"They're obviously key players for the Dees, but we certainly know what key outs look like as well," Shaw said.
"We have our fair share coming into this game and have for a while now, but certainly they're big outs for the Dees. It doesn't really change our mindset going into the game.
"Goldy's (Todd Goldstein) going really well and it would have been an unbelievable match-up (with Gawn) to see those two go head-to-head again, but it's not to be and hopefully we can get an advantage."
Tom Campbell, Tom Murphy, Lachie Hosie and Will Walker have been named as the emergencies for North.
