A win against the Eagles will surely eclipse any personal milestone for Brent Harvey on Sunday, but no-one can doubt the little champion’s standing in the league when he moves alongside Gary Dempsey with 329 career games.

That achievement puts Harvey into equal 20th for games played in the history of the VFL/AFL competition.

The significance of the milestone can only be truly appreciated when you consider those who sit above him; Michael Tuck, Kevin Bartlett, Simon Madden and Craig Bradley just to name a few.

Leigh Matthews and Justin Madden’s 332 game tally is Harvey’s next step and with a full-season under his belt, the number 29 will move ahead of Kevin Murray, David Cloke, John Rantall, Andrew McLeod and Chris Grant.

You can take little away from those icons of the game, but it certainly says a lot for the longevity and brilliance of ‘Boomer’ since he first pulled on a North jumper back in 1996.
