A nine-day break is an unusual occurrence for North Melbourne; in fact it’s the first time (barring byes) since Round 20 last season the club has enjoyed such a luxury.

An extended break means further time to prepare, and with four days still remaining until they take the field the Kangaroos’ players went about working on specific areas of their game on Wednesday.

Precision kicking, shots on goal, marking and tackling were just some of the skills concentrated on at Aegis Park on Wednesday.

Now the intensity will step up in the lead-up to the clash against the Tigers. Spots will be on the line on Thursday during a skills session, and with injuries potentially making for forced changes at the selection table there will be plenty of players looking to impress on the track.
