Ben Warren continues to feature high on the VFL goal-kicking list after bagging another six on Sunday for Werribee.

The forward is having a career-best start to the year with 20-goals to his name so far this season. He also had the ball 16 times to go along with seven marks.

Known for his tireless work ethic and hard running, Warren is yet to play a game for North Melbourne in the AFL with Aaron Edwards holding him out.

Edwards’ three goals against the Suns on Saturday placed him on 14 for the year after five games.

Lachlan Hansen was another force up forward kicking three goals of his own in the narrow seven-point loss to Williamstown.

Ben McKinley collected 17 disposals and a goal after a quiet second term while Cam Pedersen had 24 touches playing at both ends of the ground.

Sam Gibson was solid once again and had 22 possessions, a goal and eight tackles with Will Sierakowski picking up 21 disposals and Ben Speight 14.

While Ben Warren dominated, all eyes were on Nathan Grima’s gradual comeback from pre-season injury. Described as ‘steady in defence’ by development coach John Lamont, Grima’s height and skill could be handy against the talls at West Coast including Dean Cox, Jack Darling, Josh Kennedy, Nic Naitanui and Quinten Lynch on Sunday when the Roos travel to Perth.

His progress from knee and minor back issues has been encouraging and a return to the Kangaroos' side could be imminent.

Also down back, Brad Mangan had seven possessions and Ayden Kennedy got through in his first senior game for the year. Further up the ground Malcolm Lynch was kept quiet with just five disposals and a tackle.

Majak Daw was another North big man to have an impact, named in the Tigers' best after collecting 24 hit-outs to go with seven possessions and four tackles.
