North Melbourne’s Wil Dawson underwent surgery late last week on his left AC joint.
Dawson sustained an initial AC joint injury in the club’s Round 12 win over the Eagles at Optus Stadium.
The initial injury kept the 19-year-old sidelined for six weeks before he made his football return via the VFL in mid-July.
Dawson developed left shoulder pain post-season and as such has undergone surgery to tidy up the joint.
“Wil had reported some persisting symptoms, so the decision was made for him to undergo a further surgical procedure to give him the best long-term outcome as a young footballer,” North Melbourne’s general manager of football Todd Viney said.
“We are aiming for him to return to running before Christmas and football training sessions in the new year.
“The operation may impact his early 2025 season.”
Dawson made his AFL debut in Round 10 and played three senior games for season 2024.
