With the absence of Dane Swan, many were forced to start Sam Gibson in place of the Collingwood midfielder. In just his ninth game, Gibson didn't disappoint putting 114-points on the board like a premium.
Over the last three weeks Gibson has averaged a remarkable 118.3. As a point of comparison, Jobe Watson, the highest scoring midfielder in the game, has averaged 115.2 in 2012. With Swan still missing for this Saturday's match, expect Gibson to continue his starting position for many coaches.
In last week's Dream Team wrap, we suggested the way for Brent Harvey to notch up a big score against the Bombers would be through a bag of goals. His scintillating burst in the third quarter enabled him to score 103 despite just 9 kicks in 21 possessions.
Collingwood is an opponent Harvey enjoys playing against. His career average of 87.9 against the Magpies is his second highest against non-expansion clubs. Considering this week's DT matches are all sudden-death, he could be worth a trade-in priced at $432,000.
Liam Anthony was one of the countless players who stood up in the second half and he ended with his fourth century in a row on 112-points. With Anthony and Gibson patrolling opposite wings and accumulating possessions, the duo is able to be counted on for a significant score almost every week.
Andrew Swallow - a player who Brad Scott thinks should be in the All-Australian side - 'only' scored 87. Yet in a measure of how consistent he has been, it was his lowest score since Round 13.
