Ben Cunnington has responded to his omission from the North Melbourne line-up with one of the most complete games of his career in the VFL.

The in-and-under midfielder showed his ability to win the ball, create for his team-mates and hit the scoreboard in North Ballarat's seven-point win over Williamstown on Sunday.

Cunnington's numbers jump out from the stats sheet with dominance in almost every category despite atrocious conditions in Williamstown.

They include 34 possessions (24 contested), 5 marks, 11 clearances, 4 goals, 4 inside 50s, 14 one per centers and a remarkable 10 tackles.

Given those numbers, he may only spend a week in the second tier competition and could be back in to play against the West Coast Eagles in Hobart on Saturday.

The Roosters' revival was also aided by a solid effort down back from Cam Delaney who collected 22 touches, 6 marks, and 6 spoils.

Aaron Mullett continued his good form with 22 disposals while Cam Richardson fought hard for his 21 touches (11 contested).

Aaron Black was active in attack and kicked a goal to go along with 15 possessions, 5 tackles and 6 marks. Max Warren (14 disposals) and Gavin Urquhart (16 disposals) contributed well but Aaron Edwards (7 disposals) and Brad McKenzie (6 disposals) were relatively quiet.

Ben Mabon meanwhile, copped a heavy hit just minutes into the match and played no further part. Although sore, hes expected to bounce back in the coming days.
