With everyday that passes, North Melbourne’s membership figure creeps closer to the once elusive 30,000 mark.

The club’s supporters have shown an amazing amount of faith and confidence by helping secure the future and silence the critics.

“To get this close to our target of 30,000 is exciting and shows the path ahead for North Melbourne is bright and prosperous,” club Chief Executive Eugene Arocca told kangaroos.com.au. “In saying that, we can’t be truly satisfied and need to try and break our all time record of more than 34,000 which we achieved last year.”

With the economic climate making things tough, all Kangaroo’s employees including players hit the phones in an attempt to lure lapsed members back on board.

“They were all given a list of twenty names and had to call them in the space of a week. The players embraced the challenge but couldn’t match Eugene’s enthusiasm,” commented Membership Manager Sandra O’Mara.

Twenty just wasn’t enough for the CEO and he demanded another sixty names be added to his list. He returned a solid strike rate with eighteen making sure his phone call wasn’t wasted. Talent co-ordinator James Driscoll impressed with twelve credit card numbers while Adam Simpson had five people take up his offer and Sam Power helped four supporters re-join.

“We continually need to find and identify ways to engage our fans, offer them real value and make sure they support the club in the long-term. We’ve had a fantastic response to our Troo Roo for Life membership, our revamped packages and our extensive value added benefits program. In these times the club needs to offer its members over and above what’s been done in the past,” said Director of Commercial Operations Anthony Trainor.

There are still enormous benefits to take advantage of with 6 home games remaining in Melbourne.
