By the time round 6 has concluded, two of the league’s most potent scoring sides will have done battle at Patersons Stadium in Perth. North Melbourne and West Coast have done some serious scoreboard damage so far this season, and there’s no indication of it letting up anytime soon.

For the record, North sits on top of the ladder for most points scored with 620 while the Eagles are one rung down in second spot on 610-points.

Aaron Edwards has been the chief destroyer for the Roos with 14 goals to his name and in the west, Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling are tied on 12 goals for the year.

The Eagles and Kangaroos sit equal-first in the AFL for goals scored with 90 each. However looking at both sides’ accuracy, and it’s the ladder leaders with a much higher strike rate. West Coast has booted 70 behinds to North’s 80.

Neither side is afraid of throwing up big numbers but no one has scored a bigger total than North in a single game. In Round 2, the club registered 183-points against the Giants with its second highest total 131 against the Cats.

The Eagles highest mark was 166-points against Melbourne in Round 2 and then 150 versus the Giants a week later in Round 3.

Defensively, the teams are at either end of the spectrum. John Worsfold’s men are the third best in the league defensively to this point with 357-points against, while Brad Scott’s charges are the fifth worst, allowing 478-points to have been scored against them after five rounds.

Some forecast rain could have an impact on the score come Sunday, but fans should be ready for a shoot-out between two big attacking outfits.
